Enjoy USA - Events Calendar

It needs us to spend a whole year in US to experience its entire calendar of celebrations. The traveler should be aware of the number of holiday’s official and/or cultural events and holidays. Note that holidays observed on Mondays are usually treated as weekend events.  These festivals and celebrations are joie d’vivre of exuberant Americans.

  • New Years Day (January 1) – This festival has special significance in America as it falls after Christmas and is part of long festive season starting from the Christmas Day. The New Year Day is celebrated with full fervor and joy with brunches, football parties and lots of other fun and frolic activities.

  • Martin Luther King Day (third Monday in January) – Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a United States holiday that is celebrated as birthday of reverend Martin Luther King, Jr., as on third Monday of January every year.  On the day government programs are organized all over the United States to pay respect and homage to the dignitary.
  • St. Valentine's Day (February 14) – This festival of love and romance commemorated to the St. Valentine is celebrated among young lovers all over the world and in America it is not an exception is celebrated with full fervor and gaiety.
  • President Day – This day also known as Washington’s Birthday is related to Lincoln’s Birthday is celebrated as community and historical celebrations and on the day veterans and Purple Heart people are honored to celebrate this day.
  • St. Patrick's Day (March 17) – Saint Patrick’s Day is an annual feast day that is commemorated to Saint Patrick (circa 385-461 AD). This day is celebrated with attending mass, parades, wearing shamrocks, wearing green and other means by the devotees of St. Patrick.          
  • Memorial Day (last Monday in May) – This day celebrated on the last Monday of May every year is to pay tribute and homage to American soldiers who sacrificed their life during military service to the country. This day is celebrated by paying visit to cemeteries and other places.           
  • Labor Day (first Monday in September) – Congress Labor Day is celebrated in the United States on first Monday in September to give a days break off to the working people in America. However, traditionally it is celebrated as most of the Americans as symbolic end of summer.

  • Christmas (December 25) – As the most famous festival around the globe to celebrate birthday of Jesus Christ, where Santa greets with presents and gifts and the festival is celebrated with real fun and fervor.
  • Independence Day - This day is celebrated on 4th July in remembrance of adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776 when United States became independent of Great Britain.  The day in United States is celebrated with lots of fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, picnics, concerts, baseball games, political speeches and ceremonies.
